Terms and Agreement

It happens all the time. Installing new software or trying a new computer program requires the user to read the terms and conditions.  When I say read I really mean check the "agree" box and move on.  Does anyone really read those?  Whatever the terms are for is new to the user so it is very unlikely that they would be willing to read page upon page of gibberish or poppycock before playing with the new toy. What adds to the issue is society's necessity for instant satisfaction. 
"I don't really have to read it?  Then why wait?"
