jack be nimble...

"Jack be nimble
Jack be quick
Jack jump over
The candlestick."

With absolutely no offense to Jack or anyone who has jumped over a candlestick, but how hard is it really? Do you need to seriously be nimble for this? "Hold on Jim I have to do some quick stretches before I jump over this candlestick." Legit, this is a challenge that I will take. Video blog to be posted soon.

side of the road blues

At one point in your life I guarantee that you have drifted to the side of the road. Then you were brought back to reality with the sound of your tires going over those ridge things aloneside the road. Those things have probably saved a lot of peoples lives, but I have a better idea. Instead of it making an annoying sound, what if it shocked your car and resulted with you being shocked. Suddenly, maybe you don't to drift too far to the side for risk of having some major watts of electricty surge through your body. And, if you do drift to the side, you are going to be awake afterwards. You are going to be at least a little bit more aware.

I don't know. It's only a suggestion.

Change?

I feel change is a monumental thing in our society. It has helped many of us become quite good at adapting which is a phenomenal trait. What if, however, you were able to change the world? Anything you wanted to change in the world, but there is one catch. You are only able to change one thing. You don't get a billion changes. What would you change? Would you be broad or precise? Would you just get rid of all the evil in the world? If there is no evil though, can good exist? Just a simple thought exercise. I wouldn't mind a few comments with your thoughts.

What if...Sleep Meter

Here is a thought that crossed my mind in my worn out exhausted body (due to school and such). What if when you closed your eyes and slept you could see how much energy you had in your body in like a percentage. Similar to a battery meter on a cell phone, you will have a percentage of a blank battery green for how much energy you have. This way you would know if you needed to sleep for a long time or if you should go back to sleep. Also you would be able to realize how much energy you had. "Oh I can't do that today. I only have 45% energy left." Would be similar conversations that went on between peers. You would only be able to see it if you were asleep, then you would be able to subconsciously make decisions about your sleep habits from being able to tell. There are a couple details that don't work out, but it's only a dream.

Why Do Runners Run?

This is probably my favorite running poem of all time. I think it sums up the sport quite well.

Why Do Runners Run?
By Dan Crowe
I have seen their tortured faces.
I have heard their pounding hearts.
I have seen their heads bowed in the sorrow of defeat.
I have seen their hands hoisted in salute to the goddess of victory.
I have wondered why do runners run?
I have seen long lines running in the park.
I have seen them run to the accolades of a thundering crowd.
I have seen them run in the solitude of a rain-swept street.
I have wondered why do runners run?
Is it a burning inside or a thing called pride?
The search for inner peace or the quest of a a golden fleece?
I believe the gods decree that some people must run to prove that pain
is fun.

I wouldn't be caught dead...

So, I was discussing and issue with my mother about something. I don't even remember what it was, but I do remember that it was something that wasn't my "cup of tea". The first phrase I wanted to use though was that I "wouldn't be caught dead" at this place/event. However, like most children I think before I speak...sometimes. I caught myself and pondered. This left an awkward moment in the conversation where I should've responded, but I felt like what I was doing was more important.

Wouldn't be caught dead is a phrase you hear often enough. When analyzed though, it doesn't seem all that logical. For example, if I asked you to go to the local pawn shop and you said you wouldn't be caught dead there it's not like I am asking you to kill yourself first. I mean I don't want a suicide on my hands for an easy errand. And that's where the phrase loses credibility. So, with that I will end this post with a list of acceptable places/events to use the phrase "I wouldn't be caught dead" at.

-Funeral
-Funeral Home
-Anywhere post apocalypse
-Zombie hangout
-Graveyard
-Any location that has a murderer

There are probably more, but that's all I have for you today.
