Thing I love/hate about Facebook (2)

I'm back again to talk about the popular social networking website called Facebook. I have recently given up Facebook for Lent, and this leaves me a lot of free time.

The one thing I remember/ realize on Sundays is that Farmville is ridiculous. I think I see more posts on my news feed about Farmville than anything else. Which leads me to serious frustration, I don't really care at all about which animal you found recently. I don't want to help you with a "barn raising". You found a mystery? Don't tell me about it. There should be a seperate feed just for Farmville fans.

What kind of message is Farmville sending? That it is more fun to farm virtually? THAT IS ABSOLUTELY POPPYCOCK! Not the more fun part. I am not a huge fan of farming so I guess that virtual farming could be more fun, however I feel like it is absurd to spend your time farming. Normally farming I understand, but to spend your freetime farming? Seriously? Please reconsider the apps you play in your freetime. Playing dumb apps say a lot about a person and playing Farmville I guess is better than some apps.

Swedes are scared of the right thing.

Jim: Question. What kind of bear is best?
Dwight: That's a ridiculous question.
Jim: False. Black bear.
Dwight: That's debatable. There are basically two schools of thought
Jim: Face. Beats eat beets. Bears. Beets. Battlestar Galactica.
Dwight: Bears do not.. What is going on?! What are you doing?!

Sweden must watch a lot of The Office, because they seem to be following that "fact" I quoted above. A survey done by the Agricultural Sciences department of the Swedish University has found that fewer Swedes are venturing out into the wild. A main reason for this is their fear of bears. Almost a half of the swedes are worried about bears. http://www.thelocal.se/24962/20100213/

All I have to say is good riddance. Which is weird because this is the first time I have ever used the phrase "good riddance". Bears are a serious threat. Do you know what the protocol is when you find a bear in the wild? To play dead.... That's the best we can do humanity? We can put a man on the moon but we can't protect ourselves from bears? Who's bright idea was it to play dead? The bear's?

Things I love/hate about Facebook (1)

Don't get me wrong, Facebook is great. I enjoy Facebook, and use it frequently. However, there are some things that people do on Facebok that I can't stand as much or that I just find amusing as crap. Today, is more of the amusing as crap thing.

Girl's (high school) Facebook photos.

Like I mentioned this isn't something that irritates me exactly. However, I love how much of a coincidence it is. They all seem to things in common. That is other than the absurd amount of photos there are. So, here is my list of requirements for high school girls' Facebook pictures.

1) At least one photo of you sticking your tongue out.
-What is great about this?
2) A photo you took of yourself using a mirror.
- This screams, "I am incredible bored."
3) 2 or more photo shopped photos involving a quote that "fits the moment".
-How much time do people seriously have on their hands?
4) Photo of you jumping in the air.
-Someone else actually had to time this photo. Meaning a waste of time!
5) A half dozen or more photos of you with your "best friends"
- All this means is everyone in these photos will get a million notifications because all of them will comment on it.

That is I have for now, but it just really amused me to notice these reoccurring themes in girls' Facebook photos.
